7 Days Uganda Safari

This 7 Days Uganda Safari is a once in a life time safari experience that will expose you to the real African bush with sightings of unique mammal species including the mountain gorillas. You will start your safari from Kigali, Rwanda and end at Entebbe International Airport.

 

Day 1: Pick up from Kigali – Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park with Kigali City Tour  

Our professional driver guide will pick you up from the Kigali International Airport on arrival or at a hotel in Kigali and take you for a city tour. You will visit the genocide memorial, Nyamata church and local markets among other sites. Then drive northwards across the border to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park in Uganda.  Enjoy spectacular views of the Virunga Mountains as you head to Bwindi. Check in on arrival for dinner and overnight.

 

Day 2: Gorilla Trekking and Batwa Community Experience

Take your early breakfast on day 2 of the safari and thereafter head to the park headquarters for a briefing before entering the dense tropical forest. After about 2 to 6 hours of trekking, you will locate the gorillas, here you are allowed to interface with them for a maximum of 1 hour. Watching the mountain gorillas can be amazing, you will see them groom, play, eat or take a nap. Some may come close to you out of curiosity but ensure to always remain calm as you follow the guidelines from the park Guides.

After lunch, proceed for the Batwa community encounter and get to learn bout the history, and social life of the batwa. Bwindi Impenetrable Forest was the original home of the Batwa before they were evicted by the government and settled elsewhere. Although several projects were started to help the Batwa adjust to life outside the forest, it has not been a success. The Batwa remain very poor because they failed to adapt to life outside the forest or compete with the neighboring tribes. While with them, you will learn a lot about their culture as well as the challenges they faced after a life of plenty years in the forest. Expect traditional dances and other performances from the tribesmen.

 

Day 3: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park with Game drive around Ishasha sector  

In the morning after your breakfast, you will start your drive to Queen Elizabeth National Park. You will pass via the Ishasha sector which is renowned for its tree climbing lions. You will search for these lions since they are sometimes seen clinging in between the branches of old fig trees. They relax in trees and do surveillance on their territory and possibly find the prey. You will then enjoy an en-route game drive as you head to the lodge where you will spend your night at.

 

Day 4: Game Drives and Boat Cruise at Kazinga Channel

Your day will begin early with a game drive. During sunrise, it is usually the best time to spot animals in their most active. While game driving at the break of dawn, you will be able to see some of Africa’s highly famed “Big 5”, Giant Hogs, Bush Bucks, Antelopes, Waterbucks and plenty of birds.

After your game drive, you will return back to the accommodation just in time for a good and relaxing breakfast. Later in the afternoon after a delicious lunch, you will head out for a boat cruise along the spectacular Kazinga channel. As you cruise, you will be able to spot several mammals at a close range like the hippos, Crocodiles, Buffalos, and Elephants bathing on the channel’s banks. After completing your boat cruise, you will head back to your accommodation for a relaxed dinner and overnight.

 

Day 5: Morning game drive – Transfer to Kibale Forest National Park and visit the Crater lakes

After your early Morning breakfast, you will set off for your last Game drive up to Kasenyi Plains. You will catch up with the early risers before they return to their hiding places. Expect to encounter a variety of game such as elephants, Bushbucks, hyenas, Uganda Kobs, lions, buffalos among others. Later you will transfer to Kibale Forest National Park, which is home to 13 primate species including the Chimpanzees. You will go for a Nature Walk to the Crater Lakes area, don’t forget to take as many pictures as you want.

 

 

Day 6: Chimpanzee Trekking and Bigodi Wetland Walk

Today after delicious breakfast, you will drive to the park headquarters for a briefing and later embark on chimpanzee tracking. This trek will expose you to other primates like Colobus Monkeys, the Grey Cheeked Mangabeys, red-tailed monkeys, Olive Baboons, and over 350 bird species. In the afternoon, you will go for nature walk to Bigodi wetland where you will see lots of bird species and other monkeys that you might have missed during the trekking adventure.

 

Day 7: Transfer back to Entebbe International Airport

On the final day, you will enjoy breakfast, then start the drive to Entebbe International Airport where you will catch your departure flight back to your destination.
